Question about an awesome Beck/JMJ video performance

Hey Justin,

I stumbled upon this video of you with Beck on SNL. http://share.ovi.com/media/zippydoo....zippydoo.10006

I was just amazed at how cool and precise the dinner table percussion was. I'm curious how long something like that took to rehearse and if you normally performed that song like that with Beck.

THanks!

Searching for it on Youtube turns up a number of other performances with the cutlery: http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...lap+hands&aq=f

(PS: Justin, would you post a photo of your flatware settings?)

That was pretty intense, getting that together. It might look that we're all flailing at "10" with the cutlery, but the finesse required is surprising. There are contact mics everywhere, and it was quite a grand experiment. It sounded more refined and interesting at our own shows, in fact. Much more control over all the mics.

Yes, we normally did that song "Clap Hands" that way, but did it the original way as well.

JMJ

No, I think it's at Beck's house. Gotta go get it!
