Ripper Tone Questions

Hey Justin,

What are some songs that are good examples of the sound of your rippers? Do you ever track them direct or do you always run them through the B-15? Do you use them much live?

And, just for the record, thanks for so many great basslines. You are a legend already.

Legend!!??!? Hardly! But thank you regardless...such kindness. I think I need another good ten great, notable records with good playing before we can say that.

I've used the Ripper on the Sara Bareilles record, but I don't remember which songs, maybe "Say You're Sorry"? Also, used it live w/ Ima Robot playing the song "Black Jettas", but don't know if there's you tube of that. Also live w/ Beck playing the song "Soldier Jane", and a few others. Recorded it a bunch, but I just don't remember when. That's the trouble w/ too many basses.

I sometimes do direct, but IMHO the Ripper enjoys going through a dirty amp.

Best,
JMJ

Thanks for the reply!

Thats a cool tone on "Say You're Sorry"! I'll have to check out the others, hopefully they are on YouTube. Been thinking about finding a Ripper for some cool "cranked SVT" rock tones, so it's nice to hear it likes the drive!
