I love your tone you get with that broom in the video for Sexx Laws! What kind of sticks are those? Alder? But really, I enjoy listening that song with that awesome bassline. Did that come out from a jam, or was it something you made up one day?

Thanks

Surprise...panda...

Bass Player recently did a story on "Sexx Laws" with a lot of background on it from Justin, along with a transcription of the entire bassline. Quite enjoyable, and much more difficult that it sounds when you listen to it. Totally worth getting the back issue if you can.

Word to that...check the Bass Player thing, it's easier than me breaking it down again, sorry. Just lazy tonight.

But what I didn't cover in the article is that the broom is actually pine. So there you go! New insight only on Talkbass.

....Just to dig up an old thread....

Justin, the Bass Player transcription of Sexx Laws; is that a note-perfect transcription of what you played? In listening closely there seem to be a few differences in what I hear, over the A and F# at the end of the verse changes and little bits in the chorus - of course in saying that, I may be much mistaken.

Love that groove and appreciate your approach to playing, man.

Machell, I'm not sure. It's not note perfect, but very close. Thanks!

I especially like the part where the article refers to you as "a bass-freak robot named Justin." That would be a great signature tag line.
