Tracking bass from home

Hey Justin, I've got a quick question. Do you ever track bass in your home studio for projects and then send in the parts? If so can you give a brief description of your set up. The answer may go into too much detail, and if so don't worry about it. I've just been doing it a lot lately for different projects and like the tone I've been getting, but I'm never satisfied so could always use some new ideas. Thank you.

I do it all the time, yes. Setup runs as follows, with many variations:

basses into pedalboard
pedalbord into DI. DI chain:

A Designs Reddi, Aurora Audio GTQ2, BAE 312C, Ampeg SVT DI or Radial JDI into:
Aurora GTQ2 Pre, Chandler LTD1, Eriksson-Montessi EM-Silver, or Eriksson-Montessi Pacifica into:
Purple Audio MC77 or Distressor or API 525 into:
API 550A EQ or API 560EQ into:
ProTools

Then, along with that, the pedalboard splits into the amp chain which is either:

1970 Ampeg B-15N mic'd with SM57, SM7, AT4050, into Cascade FatHead into one of many preamp options into API or Neve EQ with no compressinon. Or:
Sans Amp Bass RBI or
Bass Pod X3 or
Guitar Rig 3
into Pro Tools

I think that covers it.
