Posted this on NIN.com and my website, so I thought I'd follow suit over here:
Hello!
A slightly enhanced version of a blog post I put up on my website just now:
Happy 2010! My first news of the year.
Just wanted to let you know that I have a gig coming up that promises to be a great deal of fun and certainly quite a bit different than my last live appearance, which was with NIN at The Wiltern in LA. Speaking of which, myself and ALL of my NIN-mates have really been enjoying the video "fallout" from AVOTT and more recent stuff from the fan community. Hats off to those involved!!
For those in the LA area, in case you have any interest, I will be joining my friends Inara and Greg and their band The Bird and the Bee for a special show in LA on March 5th at the El Rey Theater. I think there are some tickets still available...please come down if you're free! Here's more info:

I was on the East Coast in January, helping do live music direction for Charlotte Gainsbourg, who has a new tour, a really good band, and a new album, produced by my man Beck. The album just came out, it's very good...it's called "IRM". I believe I'm credited as playing percussion on it, though I think I actually rocked drums too. That was a good time.
Other than that, I've been spending far too much time freaking out in the world of modular synthesis. Following in the footsteps of my boyz TR and Alessandro. Luckily I have been using it to practical effect on a writing and recording project I've recently begun...as that becomes more real, I'll be sure to shed more light on what that actually is all about. At the same time, I'm doing a fair amount of bass recording work for records and film. Nice and busy around these parts.
What else...oh, I'll be forty next month. Wow!
More soon...
All my best,
JMJ
