VST Synths Recommendations

In another thread, which one I can't remember, you mentioned your really dig the new VST PLug-in synths. I was looking at a mopho but this got me thinking it could be a far simpler solution. What are some of the top VST synth you've come across?

I know massive gets a lot of love but for a basic vintage type synth do you have any recommendations?

Good news with a lot of the top brands they allow you to download demo apps.

Just buy Massive.

I also use the Arturia V Collection a ton. The Minimoog alone is a great start because it has a great arpeggiator and is also polyphonic. In fact, that's a great way to start.

If you like fat vintage synth sounds, the Arturia stuff will make you pee your pants. It gets closer to the real thing than any pretty much any VST I've ever heard.

The CS-80 and Minimoog are my favorites in the collection, but they're all pretty bad-arse.

Thanks for the sound advice - would have never known about this product since it's been around awhile and not the latest and greatest at all the electronic tech websites I visited. Went on and purchased the V Collection from Amazon. Sounds like this will keep me busy for a very, very long time thanks for the recommendation.

I just got a newsletter email from Native Instruments about their new instrument Monark. $99. I haven't played with it yet myself (maybe I'll get to it later today. I'm working on a song today where I might want to add some new layers of inspiration...) but from what I read it looks like it's appropriate to mention here.

I wasn't crazy about the small knobs in the Arturia interface. I'm curious to try Analog Laboratory to fix that problem.

U-He Diva sounds pretty good.

I also bought the U-He Zebra 2 - great modular control.
