What tubes do you use

Sign in to disble this ad
hey Justin, what tubes do you use in your Muff'n and what kind of stuff do you use it for? Is it your good dirt sound or your bitting overdrive?

I have a hot tubes, sort of the same, and i use it for a good fuzzy sound. I make it sound like the bass from spread your love by BRMC.

as always, your the champ. get back at me.

I've never messed with changing whatever's in there as stock.

Or he knows that the type of tube in it is probably not all that important. A lot of current single-tube designs are made to get the most out of cheaper tubes, which in turn makes the more expensive tubes moot. Not saying the Muff'n is one of those designs, but the likelihood is probably high.

well i wasnt asking about the brand so much as the type of tube he uses.

As i said i have a 12au7 and 12ax7 in my Hot Tubes. I was wondering if Justin had tried any other mix and match of tube types

I am ignorant, sorry. I don't really fuss with that stuff.

Its cool it just caught me off guard. You should play with it when you get time. You can squeeze a lot of cool sounds of the Muff'n with different tube arrangements.
