Used to be dimarzio dp122's but have grown tired of the harshness of them.
Now my favorite is Duncan SPB-2 Gritty and nasty when you want it and when you roll the tone back its thick and punchy.

I like the P-bass pickup in my 82 P-bass the best. Its stock with the raised A pole pieces.

Dimarzio Model P, but there's tons out there that are each awesome in their own way.

I have Fralins in mt MIJ Fender and Lakland Bob Glaud. Love them! And I play in a fairly loud rock band. Fralins are not just for mellower stuff.

If you want beef, the Model P is where it's at.

Fender '62s are great, and I've heard many good things about the Bill Lawrence and the Nordstrand pickups as well.
