His settings are for his equipment and style, and they have zero to do with mine or yours. Besides, half the fun of that stuff is tweaking it out for yourself.

But would it be fair to say you are copping a similar vintage tone with your ampeg and P's to those who originally played the oldies?
I don't feel bothered by Tayste's request. The M13 isn't a 3 knob dirt pedal. Chances are there is potential in it that one person might never find without the wisdom of another. Justin is very wise and is using it in an awesome NINtastic context, there is no better mentor to ask.

And I would have to answer your question about copping tones by saying sometimes yes, sometimes no. I do like old school equipment, but I use a lot of distortion and octave divider in tunes we do, and that's not exactly faithful to the originals.
And while you may have a point about learning from Justin, I don't know...I'd rather go play with the knobs myself. Justin is welcome to come over and make suggestions, though

Line 6 should pay Justin to do some kindof online class where he goes through some secrets of the M13, that could be a cool way of passing on the knowledge. Like some kindof masterclass. Except not a useless quality recording like the one bassplayer did with him. I'm sure they would make the money back in extra GAS induced sales.

It's not exactly what I saw myself doing when I was 16, but that's how it goes.
And yeah, I would go see a clinic with Justin. Don't know if I'd want it to be only demonstrating effects, but it would be cool if it would be a part of it.

| | | There's no secrets of any consequence to the M13. It is ridiculously simple, and was engineered to be so. Just gotta spend the time to see what effects sound good in which order. The sequence of sounds from left-to-right. That's the only thing I've really needed to spend more than half a minute dialing in. The rest is basic, including setting up expression pedals. Couldn't be more simple. I think a clinic on such a piece wouldn't be very valuable, frankly. Not that I would do a gear clinic in the first place, but thank you.
