Wat are the best strings to use for slapping but still gives that deep jazzy sound |

Seriously tho, maybe hi beams or Marcus sigs? Both DR. Sigs are lighter from what I recall from music school.
Still haven't successfully blocked all those days from my memory...
Didn't mean to intercept J, just my 4 cents. |

Do I stab myself in the neck now?

That's how I get the best slap tone, at least.
Ay.

I am very familiar with your work and thus have sought out your expertise here in your forum. Can you tell me which active 6 string bass is best for two handed tapping in your opinion?
Outside of that goofy video with Beck that was posted long ago (where you slapped a bit at his behest with a look on your face that can only be likened to drinking sour milk) has anybody ever asked you to slap on a session? I would imagine anyone hiring you does so for what you bring to the table and thus the answer would be no, but just curious.

Jared: Thank you for such kind words, and I'm glad you're familiar with my work. For your particular needs, I'd recommend one of these: http://bassmusicianmagazine.com/2010...less-6-string/
But why stop with six when you can have eight? http://www.conklinguitars.com/custom...zebrawood.html
JohnDavis: I tried that today, except it was snowing. Worked pretty well.
Jared: Yes, people have asked me to slap! But most of the time it's couched in an ironic framework. Did some sweet slapping on the M83 demos that may even see the light of day. Lord help us!!

on a side note, I prefer to use my super steel custom gauges greased up with some fast fret for those triple thumping lines I can rock , along with graphite reenforced bodies and necks, for the extra 2.5k highs I need to just sit perfectly in the mix.

That's either the most inane or most brilliant thing I've ever read.
Regardless, Kudos to you McSleazy. Kudos.

looks like an Edim7 with an added 11th. Or sumthin.
Well, you are reknown for your upper register chordal work, so this makes sense...
