Your heroes

JMJ, just wanted to say first that I think you one of the best session players out there today and are a continual inspiration to me.

I was wondering though who, in your early days of playing music, did you want to sort of grow up to be? It seems like most young players try to emulate their heroes, even as going as far to play the same gear and cop their idols' techniques. Were you ever like this?

Gawd DAYUM, thanks very much indeed, Chanson.

You are too kind.

I wanted to be a combination of Peter Hook/Paul McCartney/John Taylor/Tina Weymouth, I suppose. Did I play the same gear, not really. Though I saw Peter Hook and Andy Rourke w/ a Yamaha bass, so that was my first real bass i owned. Techniques, sure. Especially Hooky and Tina over time.

So many others too, but those are four ones early on in my "album buying" career that I latched on to.

JMJ
