Exclamation another german/french thread

i just got my german bow, its a brazil wood with ebony frog, its seems okay, knowing i only payed 50 bucks for it on ebay!

i know how but ive found it difficult to bow strait, play the low a,e strings, and bow fast. my teacher plays all german now but was brought up on french, which is sthe same with me (but it was a fiberglass bow provided by the school). my teacher says when it comes to playing really fast, its more of an finger motion then your wrist or arm. any help would be great.

im new so yeah

Try practicing in front of a mirror, with the emphasis on PRACTICING. (;p)-

I wouldnīt call myself an expert on arco, but what one really needs to figure out with the german grip is to play the string with the index finger, to "push" the string on upbow and to "pull" the string on downbow. Think of pizzicato. It takes some time to get the feel of the motion and to get the sound, AFAIK this is the way.
Donīt slide on the stick with the index finger, and donīt choke the string. The feeling is like when you lean on a table with the right hand.
Hope this helps!
