bow camber

I have an old german bow that was converted from French to Butler. It came with my Herold Jaeger bass that I picked up several years ago. Nice straight stick, not really sure what the wood is. It doesn't have much spring left, so I asume it needs to be re cambered. I'm a piano technician and do lots with wood. I'm thinking of making a jig so I can apply the heat from all sides evenly and slowly with a heat gun. There was some talk a while back, but I can't seem to find it. I think I can do this. Any feedback?

Well, my friend, I am not a master bow camberer, but I do have a good friend who recambered a bow over his stove for a student.
Personally, I believe bow makers and repair shops exist for this purpose. We aren't talking about a costly job here, so, if you like the bow, maybe look up a reputable bow person or ask around.
