bow repair needed

In the middle of a rehearsal last night, I look down at my bow (French bow that I've had for a couple years) and the hair is totally loose. The bow is frozen--I can't tighten it. So (1) what happened, (2) why'd it happen (pilot error or equipment malfunction?), (3) is it something I can fix or should I take it to somebody who knows what they're doing, (4) does the bow need to be rehaired in addition to fixing whatever the problem is?

Either the hair has reached its limit of elasticity, or one of the plugs securing the hair at the frog and tip mortises has pulled out. Either way, you're going to have it looked at by a bowmaker or someone who does rehairs. It may or may not need a rehair, but why not get one done anyway?
