Bowing at high volume

I find that when I bow at high volumes, my bass resonates too much and I have to continually dampen the strings to avoid feedback (which makes bowing difficult...)

I'm using an Underwood pickup and a GK150 amp. No preamp. Any suggestions?

Cheers

The GK150 has a semiparametric mid control right?

Play as you normally would and have someone work the mid frequency control on the amp to identify the offending frequency.
