That price range gives you a lot of options.I would look at lemur music or maybe one of Ken smith's bows. For a used bow, check out the for sale section of this forum. Are you looking for french or german, and how long have you been playing with a bow. Or are you just starting out with the stick' o pain??

ken smith has several older bows for sale, other than his ksb bows. But they might be out of your price range. Should try contacting him anyway. You're probably pretty close to his shop in PA. Kolstein.com also has many bows, but I don't know if they have a ship-to-try policy like lemur. You might want to drive up to nyc and check out some bass shops.

I remember your email. Sorry I didn't have something to suit your immediate needs. By the way, shop for the quality within your price range. Old means only old, not better. I have several old Bows but some of the best Bows I have played were NEW Bows made by Sue Lipkins. I just got a new one 2 weeks ago and it's a dream to play.

Shop for good quality and design combined. The same stick of wood can be a good or bad bow depending on who makes it and the design used. A poorly designed bow made by a great maker will play like a bad bow that is beautifully made. A good designed bow by a bad maker will feel like the bow is a wanna be but not quite there.

I have played bows from hundreds to thousands of dollars and you really need more than just one variable to have a good bow. Age is not one of them without the other factors.
