Clean bow

Hello,

i simply want to know how to clean the hair of my bow. I heard some folks use alcohol... What is the best way to clean it?

I don't know why you would need to clean it unless you ruined the hair from using too much rosin. Alcohol seems like a bad idea.

Unconfirmed by me, but I heard using shampoo to clean the hairs works. After all, it is hair.

I'd like to know if this is true at all.

If your hair is that funky, just get the bow rehaired. I've tried all the crackpot methods of cleaning bow hair, and they just don't work. Plus, some, like alcohol, can kill the finish of your bow, and the others just can't be good for it...

You really should get bows rehaired every year or so if you play every day, if not more often, and if the hair is getting gummed up sooner than that, there's probably something wrong with your rosin or rosin useage.
