I just got my Coda carbon fiber German bass bow. It's a huge step up from what I had. The tone is amazing and the playability has opened up new realms for me. It's fun.
Having tried many bows, it really seems to be a bargin. For the record, I play an RN Eminence EUB with Velvet Anima strings. The richness of the tone is dramatically better than others I've tried at 3 and 4 times the price.
Most of what I do is bluegrass (MonroeCrossing.com). I use the bow for the more dramatic parts of on a handful of tunes. I've been practicing fiddle tunes for fun. I find the Animas respond slowly to bowing, you have to get a really good thrust on your note. I've got Helicore's on my other bass and it bows a lot easier.
