difficulty tightening/loosening my bow

One of my bows is getting really hard to tighten/loosen. What is the preferred way to free up a sticky screw/slider mechanism?

I've seen a dab of white grease used. Maybe graphite powder would do it as well?

Rub the screw across a candle a few times. Perafin works wonders on threaded stuff. Also, it won't damage or mess with the ebony or pernambuco.

I've always used graphite on the screw and the metal liner on the frog. Its usually quite handy, just find a No 2 pencil and color away.

thanks

all of these suggestions sound good. I tried the graphite first, as I had a good soft graphite pencil close to hand. worked just fine.

Well, as a tuba player, i had a nice bottle of this red selmer slide grease. cleaned the threads on my screw off good, and put a dab or two of the stuff on, works real good now. lasts forever (at least so far).
