dry rosin...

Winter's coming on and my pop's is beginning to dry out (haha, yes I do keep the container closed), as it does get very dry towards the winter months. It isn't really running as much as it used to; it probably would not move much if I tilted it at all and left it for a day or two. What should I do with it? Should I introduce a slight amount of water, or just leave it be? Is dry rosin okay and normal?

Keep it and use it next summer when it's humid, where dryer rosin is more appropriate. Then, live large and treat yourself to a new Pops.

I often reinvigorate the surface of my rosin with a lighter. Or, you can put it in the oven and re-melt the whole cake...
