| Ebay find! Sorry everyone I don't have a digital camera or I would post pics, but I figured I would ask anyways. I recently purchased 3 bows, together, on ebay along with an old picture with "New England String Ensemble 1937" hand written on it. The seller let me have everything for $50 which seemed to be a good deal. The bows are very clearly "older". I would venture to guess at least 60-80 years and possibly older. None had hair. Two are German, and one is French. There isn't much in the way of stamps on them-the French bow has "Germany" stamped on the bottom side of the stick-under the frog. One German bow has "Made in Checkoslovakia" stamped on the side of the frog. The third bow has a simple, but very neatly done, "VI" stamped on the stick under the frog and on the metal slide which is screwed to the frog where it rests against the stick.
I realize that chances are they are all "shop" bows and I'll be hard pressed to find anything out about any of them, but thought that maybe the bow with VI might ring a bell with someone. If anyone has any guess I'd be glad to hear them.
