Finale review

Got the bow a couple of days ago. First impressions were positive, playing my LaScala with EPs. My Lothar Sieffert**pulls an airier sound; the Finale is more focused, and feels livelier. Took it over to a friend's to get a second opinion. She is a real arco player and has a very nice Italian bass, also with EPs. On her bass, the Sieffert was again airier, and the Finale more focused. She also felt the Finale was a bit livelier and bounced better. It seems to me the Finale makes my LaScala sound richer and less "plywoody". I have an orchestra rehearsal coming up and will try both bows; it'll be interesting to hear the difference.

See the other recent threads here about the Finale. It's a very good bow.

I get the impression that these bows are very powerful, but headed to headed with a wood bow the wood bow will generally have more tone to it. I think these would be very good orchestral bows.

Update: the Finale worked very well in the section. It's a real nice matchup with my LaScala.
