Frog made from bone?

Occasionally I hear about a bow whose frog is made from animal bone. What qualities or advantages, or difficulty, does bone introduce?

Ivory frogs are supposed to have a different feel. I'm considering getting one, and the cheapest price i can find is around 3,000. Horst Schicker has an ivory frog bow on Lemur also.

Every ivory frogged bow I have played feels on the heavier side. They will typically be better bows because the maker will reserve the 'fancier' frog for a better stick. Just a shiny white hood ornament on a nice car.

Strangely enough, 'frogged' is an actual adjective. I learned something on TalkBass.
