gewa or alfred stingl bow

hi
i am a double bass player from Greece, i play only pizzicato (jazz, swing etc) and i am thinking of starting study arco. Looking for a "cheap" solution for my first bow i am between these from Thomann.de

http://www.thomann.de/gr/gewa_bassbogen_deutsch_34.htm

http://www.thomann.de/gr/alfred_stin..._bassbogen.htm

Does anybody knows something about them?

Thanks in advance

i mean
...if there is no difference at so low prices, then i should buy the Gewa and try later one much better (and more expensive)
...but is there any danger for the Gewa to be completely useless?

hi
maybe the lack of response says a lot about these bows. I can't comment as I have never used either of them. No matter what you choose you will want to upgrade in the future. It might be more advisable to buy from a bass specialist. Upton music do an entry level brazilwood bow for $129. I'm sure it wouldn't be that expensive to import one. If you have no opportunity to try a bow locally then Upton might be good place to start. At least you know you are buying a product designed for the Bass. If you can't get a teacher I'd advise you to look at some of the videos available on you tube. eg Andrew Anderson teaches bass is avery good source for the French Bow hold. Good luck in your quest. Be patient it takes a long time. Lots of practice and self evaluation along the way.
