not wood bows

I have heard that all "not wood bows" are similar in that they do not vibrate like a wood bow does. They sound stuffy, dull or not "organic". I would love to try both the Glasser bow that you mentioned and the coda bow (revelation) "side by side". Has anyone tried the Glasser braided carbon fibre bow(retail $ 650.00)?? Cheers!

Yeh, I have one - got it for Christmas. What I like about it is that it is light but pulls really good across the strings. I tried a Meinel pernambuco and one other in the same price range and I liked the Glasser the best.

My bass teacher uses one of those glassers as his back up bow as opposed to his arsenal of other pernambuco bows. I tried it a couple of times and impressed with how much sound it could pull. I think it's a good value bow personally.
