Question Looking for a cheap but decent bow

Hello,

I'm scouting around for a cheap but decent bow for a high-school age player.

He's currently using my battered, old Meisel (it cost me $100 used) and wants to buy it off me but I'm reluctant to sell it because it has lost its camber, is quite heavy, and I think it's only mission at this point should be as an emergency backup bow.

The Upton beginner bows seem to be a good bet... any feedback on those would be appreciated.

Also, are there any others in that price range, or slightly higher, worth looking at?

Thanks,

Martin V.

I've been using the least expensive bow from Ken Smith and really like it thus far. I'll be updating this review as things progress, but here's the starter thread:

Martin,

Is it French or German? I currently have a decent French bow for sale on TB. Bob Golluhur sells similar ones. $100 range. It has a decent sound, plenty of hair left, and there have been positive reviews here on TB about the Golluhur Bow.

If interested, will try to link it or PM me.
