Michael Dolling Bows

I'm looking into buying a Michael Dolling French bow from an estate sale. The bow was originally bought for $2,500 and is being offered at about $1,500. I just made the switch from german to french bow, so I'm not very confident with my judgement. However, from what I can tell it's a nice bow, somewhat on the light side, which would probably make a great solo bow, but might not be the "ideal" orchestral bow.

Doe anyone have experience with the bows?
