What is Mos -fet exactly? I read that the Ampeg SVT 4PRO has this.

Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor.
Pretty much every electronic device in existence has these. In the musical context, it's usually a fancy euphemism for "solid state amp."
