New Bow Hair Bow Out

Ever have your bow re-haired and hate the sound of the hair? I just re-haired my bow after many a months (same salt-n-pepper) and find the bow to be raspy sounding now. It's totally distracting and unsatisfying. I have assumed that I need to get used to it but it's been a couple weeks now and I still really hate the sound.

New Bow Hair Bow Out ?

Honestly, I only clicked on this thread because I was curious to know what was making the bow hair bow out, but then saw you were 3 weeks with no response so thought I'd give it a bump and say how's it going now?

<disclaimer... I'm new to arco so just speculating here> Does anyone experience bow hair improving with time after the initial break in? Do people ever switch rosins due to new bow hair that is of different character than the previous? Or is it a lost cause if the hair isn't up to snuff and no rosin will compensate?

I'm guessing after a couple of weeks you've probably done all you can working the rosin in and maybe you have some hair that doesn't suit you and will have to have it redone. If so, bummer

BTW Jason, I've been to your myspace page and really enjoy the fiddle tunes. So far I mainly use the bow for intonation and building left hand strength, but once I can start getting up and down the neck faster and more accurately aspire to play a similar style to yours with drones, double stops and that fiddle tune drive. Thanks for the good tunes and inspiration !
