Opinions on Carbon Bow

I'm looking for a beginner bow. I've noticed some Carbon bows on Ebay and wondered if:
A. Has anyone has had experience with
one of these? and
B. What's the big draw for Carbon Fiber vs. wood?

Here's a link to the one I saw is Item # 130086938387

Just adding my $.02, you will not find a carbon fiber bow, that is anywhere near a decent bow unless you fork up some cash. For instance, uptonbass.com sells their workshop bow (made from Brazilwood) for $99. If you were to buy a carbon fiber bow, similarly priced I would be much happier with the upton bow, then the Carbon Fiber. THat's just the way it has worked as far as I have noticed.

I agree. I have a Carbow Grunberger that is of excellent playing and sound quality. I have played a few of the budget priced carbon fibers and I didn't like them. The sound was good but playability was rather clunky.

Yep! I have found the same thing. I'm pretty sure nothing less than $400 for a carbon fiber bow. THa'ts about what I've seen.

I only have a wood bass bow, can't really judge the carbon bass bows. But I have a carbon cello bow (besides two wood ones) for playing cello and like it very much. When selecting my carbon cello bow, I tried a lot of carbon bows between €100 and €1000 and found several bows, that played great. The main draw back for me was the weight, carbon bows seem to be somewhat lighter then wood bows.
After my experience with carbon cello bows, I would look for a carbon bass bow next and would expect a better value and durability at the same price then with a wood bow in the price range up to € 1000.
