I had my last rehair done at the Cremona violin shop on Market (around 8th, I think) in San Francisco. I'm mainly a jazz guy and probably not the pickiest about these things, but everything seems to have been done well.

Ifshin in Berkeley does incredible rehairs, they use quality hair and it is always perfect. I have them put some glue in the tip.
I heard people from all over Fed Ex their bows there because it is so good, so it is likely worth a trip over the bridge. They are on University.
They guy is a fireman who rehairs bows and his father was also a fireman who rehaired bows.

Check out Roland Feller on Divisadero. I have my bows rehaired there every 6-9 months or so, and have always been very happy. Very reasonably priced, too.

hi, Martin,
Thanks for your reply. Roland Feller will actually be close when I visit SFO. I emailed them and was told they will be close for the first two weeks of July. Thanks anyway!

It's what's called a wisecrack. You asked for rehair recommendations and I sent a link to someplace that gives people hair transplants because I had nothing relevant to add to the conversation and I can't leave well enough alone.

Geeze, it's not funny, when you have to explain it.

You can also check with John Greenwood (www.greenwoodbows.com). I have not had any rehairs done by him (yet) but I've seen some of his bows and they were impressive.
