Rehair w/real horsehair or get a new bow?

I got a cheap Glasser fibreglass bow with my bass when I purchased it. One person recommended that I spend about $200 and get a wood bow (maybe Brazilwood at that price), but my setup guy suggests just re-hairing for just $50 or so.

I dont play with a bow too much, planning on doing so in the future but not right now.

What would you do, get a rehair or just get a new bow?

Rehairing your Glasser bow with horse hair will make a huge difference in the way the bow will play. It won't make it into a great bow, but if you are not using a bow much, use the Glasser with horse hair now and save your money to buy a really good bow when you are ready for it.

You'll be pleasantly surprised at the improved sound you get with genuine horse hair. Make sure the hair is Siberian or Mongolian. e-mail me if you want a reference for 48 hour turnaround from anywhere in the USA.
