I'm about to ship a bow off for a rehair.
I'm curious if anyone here has a preference for shipping with USPS, UPS or FedEx for this kind of thing. Better rates? Better Service? Horror Stories?

I have shipped plenty of bows using USPS. It has been the cheapest. What I have found that works really well is the Cylinder cardboard poster/storage tube. Just pack it really well.

Thanks Matt, I've made a PVC tube for shipping. It's pretty stout.

Send it overnight on a weekday (Monday-Thursday) so it doesn't spend the weekend on a truck, in storage somewhere etc. and consider getting the insurance.
Even if it is packed well, the theory is that they will treat an insured package better, because they'd have to pay out if it's damaged. No idea if it's true, but helps me sleep better.
