Should the hair touch the stick when playing a french bow?

The hair actually will touch the stick on my new pernambuco bow, it didn't with my old brazilwood stick. Any wisdom?

Well, seems like there are two options - you either need to tighten the hair more, use less arm weight on the bow, or most likely some combination of the two...

or replace the hair if you can't get it tight enough

tighter is better

I thought the hair was tight compared to my old bow. The old bow lacks the camber of the new one. Maybe that plays into it.
Anyway, tighter seems to solve the problem.
