Sticky Hair. Need help~

I just applied rosin(pop's bass roisin) to my new bow. somehow the lumps stick on the bow hair instead of powder.
Now the hair is sticky and shiny! of course the play sounds horrible.

What should I do?

Play a while, wipe down the strings. Repeat.

Is it warm where you are? Maybe a harder rosin is in order. Try to go easy on the rosin - a little goes a long way, especially with Pop's . I rarely go more than 4 swipes.

Even 4 swipes with Pop's can be too much at times. I used to d no more than 2.

At this point you can either play it off, or use some alcohol on a rag to try to get some of it off.

Pop's is great stuff, but a little goes a long way.

I should have been clearer - I meant no more than 4 swipes with a non-Pop's rosin (e.g. Carlsson). With Pop's, I agree that 2 is a good rule-of-thumb limit.

I think playing it off is better. I'd worry about damaging or drying out the hair with alcohol or some other cleaning agent.
