Question On the subject of frogs...

What's the difference between frog materials? Is it aesthetic or does it affect tone? I've seen snakewood, ebony of course, mastodon ivory, buffalo horn and tortoise shell. I know tortoise shell is irresponsible to use as they are an endangered specie. But concerning the other materials what is the difference? Also are there other materials being used? Someone with experience would be very welcomed. Thanks.

Other than aesthetic differences, I would guess bow weight.

So, no one else has experience with different frog materials other than ebony?
