twist in bow - effects on playing?

I just bought a "mail order" inexpensive bow. I noticed when I unpacked it that it has a, slight although easily visible, twist at the tip. It doesn't seem to be bent/warped to the left or right but is does have a slight twist.

What effect does this have on the bows ability to function properly?

I'm a DB newbie and my focus is Jazz/Pizz playing. I'm playing a Kay with Spiro's. Only playing arco at home for practice. The bow is definetly better than the crappy plastic one I found at church. I guess I'm just wondering if the twist is going to create any bad habbits with technique or if it makes it any more difficult to use?

Thx,
John

Thank u sir!

Thanks for the reply Ken. I'm such a DB newbie I figured nobody was responding because it was a stupid question or something.

I appreciate the info. It works fine for me but then I don't know what a decent bow feels like. I just wanted to be sure I wasn't wasting my time trying to develope some techinique with a "bad" bow.

Thanks again!

The bow I ended up buying (from Ken's website coincidently) has a really minor twist in the tip, but the bow hair is still flat and has even tension, it plays fine, It plays a thousand times better than the bow I had before that was straight as an arrow. I'm thinking about getting it rehaired though, I'm not in love with the black hair, maybe I'll ask if there's anything they can do to straighten it out then.
