whatīs the "nut of the bow"?

hello!

as it seems I donīt know my english to well...

can anyone please tell me what the "nut of the bow" is?

in german language or with a picture would be great!

The nut is the twisty part that tightens or loosens the bow hair.

thanks! this confirms what I thought it was...

I havenīt heard the term "beinchen" yet though.

according to simandl (#14 on his diagram of the parts of the DB & bow) this would be "schraube" or "knopf".-..

"schraube" or "bogenschraube" is bassist-speech
"beinchen" is rather luthier-speech
