I've recently purchased an Eleven Rack and I'm thinking about ways to incorporate it into my current live setup instead of replacing my current live setup.
My idea is to split the signal from my bass, run one into the 11R and the other into my Ampeg PF500. I'd use the 11R for a wet sound and keep the Ampeg running clean. I play in a power trio, so my thinking is that this will add a layer of depth to the low end when I'm running a distorted or modulated bass sound. I can maybe kick up the distortion a bit while preserving the low end. I believe Justin Chancellor does some version of the wet/dry thing and I'm kind of curious to play with it.
I want, though, to keep the control of this sound with me and my rig. I don't want to run extra bass lines to the FOH and depend on them to make it sound good. So my idea was to run out from the 11R (from the XLR main outs) and the Ampeg (the XLR DI) into a rackmountable line mixer and mix the sound there myself. And then run out from the line mixer to the FOH.
Any thoughts or ideas? I'm just curious to bounce this off someone else before I spend any money on anything. I've looked at these as possible line mixers: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MLM42S/ http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/SM10/ http://www.amazon.com/Studio-Quality...I18XETANZLDTUM
Thanks for any thoughts or advice you guys might have.
