Amp Stand For Bass?

Sign in to disble this ad
I was wondering if there were any (non-tiltback) amp stands out there that could support a separate cab-and-amp setup. Anything? Google search isn't doing much for me.

the rock and roller carts can be used as a stand . . .

edit:
this is the only pic I could find, but you can just leave it upright. there's a TB'r who posts a pic every now and then like that . . . they come in different sizes too

I've been wondering the same thing.

I've seen touring bands stack their amp on top of part of their road case, but that's definitely not the cheapest solution ever...

what is the logic to do so? just to get the sound are ear level, without having to haul an 810

that and it can also, in some cases, decouple the sound a bit from the stage. if the stage is hollow (say a 2nd floor, or above a basement) the bass amp can transfer vibrations throughout the floor and possibly the walls = muddy tone

How much are you wanting to raise the amp? Would it be possible to make something yourself? I've seen a few people make wooden box stands that double as crates to carry cables and other gear.

I wonder - Gator makes a rolling case for guitar amps that also acts as a stand. i wonder if there are any available for bass? or if they would custom something without it being crazy expensive

I have one for my guitar amp it was like $150-ish

here's the product shot

Thanks for the replies, everyone. Yes, my logic is to get the sound closer to ear level and to decouple it--both are pretty important.

I was thinking of building something myself but I don't want it to come out looking unprofessional, nor do I want to make something is ultimately just as cumbersome to haul as the cab itself. That's why the amp stands sold for guitar amps appeal to me, except that they are often tiltback which is a no-no for my application.

I use a folding tv tray to elevate my GK MBS112. Theres also enough room for it to hold my Fishman preamp, and a beverage. I use this setup on gigs with my upright bass.

Try this

You can get it here for $35

I use one at a rehearsal space that sometimes has a damp floor to hold 1x15 and head. I think the capacity is 750lbs

wow - that looks like a cool solution! has the amp ever moved on it (always afraid of it vibrating off . . .)

I'm constantly amazed at how many gig solutions I find at Depot . . .

I have two of these. Quite a few other TB'ers have also mentioned using them in similar threads to this one.

Nope. It's pretty stable. I set the cab on it diagonally from corner to corner. It folds flat too.

+1.

Adjustable, stable and they hold a lot of weight. Great for keeping your sound off of your ankles..
