I think i am converted over. Last night we played a gig and for the sake of saving time and space, I did not bring a cabinets with me and just ran to the board. And my guitar player recommended i try his in ears system. I used them once before with his buds but everything sounded horrible. So this time i tried them with my cheap 35 dollar skullcandy asym buds and i could actually hear the difference in my bass tone when i would switch it. Needless to say i was pretty much sold at that point.

Now the only thing i did not like was i could not really travel far from stage without them cutting out. He has a set of carvins that cost about 350 bucks. Which is about as much as im looking to spend. But i want to be able to travel off stage when i need for example but not limited to:

-get more beer
-grind on some fat chicks
-make sure my gf is not mad at me for grinding on fat chicks
-continue to grind on fat chicks
-take somebody elses drink

...so on and so fourth.

SO what this gets down to is, What are some good brands to try out in the 3-4-500 dollar range? And if the deal is good i am not opposed to buying used.

I looked for a while, found the M2 by Audio Technica for $443, usually $599 at GC, Sam Ash etc. Was JR music world, not sure if that was one time only, or what.

Very happy with it so far, going on a month or two now. Can run it stereo, mono, or my favorite, a blend mode. L and R channels both go to both sides, its a mono mix, but the balance control that usually does L-R now just adjusts the mix between the 2 channels.

So I have monitors in one channel, bass in the other, I can add more bass or more vocals as needed at the beltpack with a twist of the knob. Very handy.

Are you interested in the iem's or the receiver? I picked up a pair of customs for 250... Fidelity duo's. Sound really nice.

The M2 is good, but I'd spend the extra and get the M3. Or get a used Sennheiser 300 (G2 or G3).

What's the point? M3 just gives you more freqs to choose from, you already have 100 on the M2, 10 simultaneous.

So its pretty much useless unless you're touring with a full stage show of other wireless gear you have to avoid colliding with.

Did we already have this conversation?

My old singer used the 1100, was pretty happy with it. That was my target unit until I found an M2 for $443.
