ART TUBE MP vs. Behringer MIC 100/200

I am debating about getting one of these, which one would you recommend and have you had good experiences with either? I am just looking to warm up my solid state amp without going broke with an svp-cl, this is going to be used for live applications not for recording.

The ART tube mp is a great preamp, but will do nothing to warm up a solid state amp IMHO. Never tried the Behringer.

I'd suggest you try out a Sansamp in the shop sometime, & surf/search in the Effects & Recording forums.

I used to use the ART Tube MP on my pedal board as a pre-amp/DI for power amp or direct to FOH applications. I liked it because it was clean and did very little to the tone except raise the output level.

I took it off the pedal board because it became unreliable, dropping out for no apparent reason. I think (just a guess) that the tube was either going bad or was a smidge unseated properly - but I can't prove it. I'm using a solid state preamp now.

I'll second that about the Sans amp. It's got just what you are looking for.

I run my Tube PAC (Tube MP plus compressor) in the effects loop of my Kustom Groove1200. I think it adds a nice ballsiness to my tone without changing it a whole lot. At high gain settings (as in very clearly audible distortion) you do lose some low end, so I wouldn't recommend it as a drive unit, but it's pretty nice for what it does.
