I am debating about getting one of these, which one would you recommend and have you had good experiences with either? I am just looking to warm up my solid state amp without going broke with an svp-cl, this is going to be used for live applications not for recording. |

| | Registered User | | Join Date: Jun 2005 Location: Nashville | | | I used to use the ART Tube MP on my pedal board as a pre-amp/DI for power amp or direct to FOH applications. I liked it because it was clean and did very little to the tone except raise the output level.
I took it off the pedal board because it became unreliable, dropping out for no apparent reason. I think (just a guess) that the tube was either going bad or was a smidge unseated properly - but I can't prove it. I'm using a solid state preamp now.

I think it adds a nice ballsiness to my tone without changing it a whole lot. At high gain settings (as in very clearly audible distortion) you do lose some low end, so I wouldn't recommend it as a drive unit, but it's pretty nice for what it does. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
