Behringer DI?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm thinking about getting a Behringer DI400P Passive DI box, but I was wondering if anyone of you have tried it out? It's cheap and has great reviews, so I'll probably get it. I'll be getting it for a backup incase my amp craps out on a gig. I'll be able to just take that DI and plug into the front of house PA without any amp right? Thanks everyone!

save up the extra twenty bucks and get a whirlwind imp. the imp is at least a "professional" box, unlike the b-ger. with bass, the better the transformer in the box, the more of your low end actually makes it to the PA. the imp is not as nice as say, a radial, but it's kinda the cheapest "legit" box out there, and it's bulletproof.

Hi.

I have the active one, damned if I remember the model though , and that's not half bad.

I do agree though that a better one is more than worth it.
Behringer has it's place IMHO, but not if it's the only thing You have to rely on.

I'd get myself a line 6 pocket pod or pocket pod express if i were you...you'd at least have a bit more control over tone then!

I've owned over 25 DIs.. Like you, I'm always looking for value pieces

Couple of opinions...
1-Your audience can not hear the difference between an under $100 DI and a $400+
2-Upgrade slightly..
3-Consider Multi function devices

IF you just want tone shaping and DI, the MXR M-80 or Rolls Red Square add a little to a DI and both are quality units

For Mutli function devices, Peterson has some tuners with a DI on them... Rolls makes a headphone personal monitor that also has a DI.. you can use this as a practice amp or DI... or IEM box.

your audience probably can't hear the difference between an sx and a lakland, so what's your point?

If you can go the bucks for Radials, at least go for these: http://www.audiopile.net/products/DI...DI_Boxes.shtml

$25 new, price is right for a backup.

For any kind of regular use, I personally would invest a bit more. (Also consider an active DI if you have a passive bass.)

A couple other DIs have come and gone, but I'm really thrilled with the Countryman I just got. It brings out the absolute most from my passive electrics and my upright - totally spanks the last active DI I had. For around $100 used, that's a WIN in my book.

I used one to run a Digitech Jamman into the PA. We were using the jamman to queue up various bits of audio at certain points in songs. Worked great for this, as far as running a bass through it though, I have not tried.

When it comes to DIs folks always make it sound like everyone needs a $500 box. I'm a fan of the Countryman, Radial etc (yes own all of them)

It would be dishonest to comment that for entry point it's a prudent buy.

I own some berhinger stuff.. have found teh connectors to be the weak point..

I find no difference between my JDI and a DBX (except the extra money)

SX vs Sadowsky.. they're both copies (until you can afford a fender)

Also forgot to note the Rolls DB25.. they're at the same price point.. small footprint.. variable padding.
