Bose L1 Users

Our band has been having a feedback issue with our Bose L1 and we can't figure out why. We use the Bose L1 as a monitor and to supplement the vocals a little but our main sound comes from a pair of JBL 15's and a powered sub. The Bose system is usually towards the back of the stage so everyone, including the drummer, can hear the vocals.

I just thought I would ask if anyone knew why we are getting some feedback with this? It is our singer's system and he assures us that it can be used this way, but I'm not sure. It really only gives us feedback when someone sings through it. It is kind of a squeal or ringing type of feedback...if that helps. We also only have the volume about half way up (or less) on the Bose system.

Any ideas?

If you’re using a single unit, make sure the filter dial is set for the mic you’re using. If you’re using more than two kinds of mics, that can be a problem.

Yeah, we do use multiple brands of mics.

I don't know if we've even tried adjusting the filter dial though.
