Community brand speakers?

My church just got a new PA system. Some of the equipment seems good (Allen and Heath mixer, Crown power amps, etc.) but I am skeptical about the Community brand speakers and monitors. Does anyone know about these unpowered speakers?

Community has been around a long, long time. It's been years since I've dealt with any large church installs, but the Community brand was (probably still is) an industry standard.

I wouldn't worry too much about them.

Hi.

Like lowfreqgeek said, thet brand has been around a while.

Over here it did compete with Peavey back in the day and that meaned the cheapest league. Today it might be a different league, or not. I don't even know who owns the brand.

I stopped listening with my eyes and judging by the brand a long time ago, so if they sound good, they're good. If I was doing an installation though, the cheapest wouldn't be my choice without known (good) users and/or heavy processors to protect against misuse.

Regards
Sam

A band I play with uses their PA gear very successfully. It seems to me to be value-priced (not a big marketing budget to support) rather than cheap. I can vouch that it's well-made and durable.

Good sound, good price, built to last. Older stuff was USA made.

I helped fly a bunch of China built 3-way, Community cabs, at the roller derby. They sound great, and have been rocking monthly bouts, for a year or two.

You're working with good gear. Be happy.
