Has any one tried this yet?
The reason Im asking is because in 1996, Geddy Lee started connecting his bass to the FOH (front of house) unit in the venues where they had speakers which helped the sound reinforcement.
So does anyone how this could be done?

Bass->effects->DI->Mixer/FOH

Originally Posted by BassesForTheWin okay then, i just saved $1900 on bass cabs/cab heads | Do keep in mind that the bass rig, just as any instrument rig on stage, acts usually as a stage monitor for the player and more importantly, for the whole band. Without the rig (which approach I love by the way), there has to be an IEM system or very good foldback system, with separate monitor mixes, compressors, limiters, EQ's etc.
$1900 won't get You, or the band, far on that department.
If You're absolutely sure that there will be adequate PA support on every gig, do yourself and everyone else with you on the stage a favour and buy some small quality combo to act as a sidefill/monitor as well as aquality DI box. The combo will most probably save the day more than once.
