Cords - PA Component Connectors

howdy.

It's been a few years since I've had my big PA together..

rRecently made a new road rack and will be mounting it all together again.

I plan on all new custom cords to combine it together.

Since these 1/4=>1/4 cords do not get knocked around, is there any reason why I have to use coax cable or an it be basic quality 2 conductor?

Tim

It depends on your definition of "coax" or "basic 2 conductor". Those are not orthogonal terms.

You need instrument cables in your rack - 2 conductor zip cord will not work well due to RFI and lack of shielding.

Thank you.. the question came up as the inside of combo amps do not use shieded coax.

Are you talking about connections to speakers or electronic elements of the PA?

Combo amps have 2 wire zip cord to the speakers - that's a whole different ball game.

Sly - elements..

My hunch was that the Guitard was pulling my leg... like they say "too good to be true" by using zip between components.

Now - If I could remember where all my shorter cables eneded up...

Sincere thanks

Tim
