If you want bridge mode, yes there IS a specific difference to how its wired.

You'd pull the amp down before you could pull the banana cable out. I used mine like this with no problems.
The center plastic inserts in the red/black plastic caps for the banana plugs pop right out, and voila, rear entry like normal banana jacks!

Which would make Munji right. Can't have that.


Side mounting the banana plugs is more secure IME.

I'd rather have it pop out if someone tripped on the cable, than have it break the terminals, Speakon connector, amp socket, and possibly short the amp.

Less expensive than damaging the amp or time wasted fixing wires ripped out of a Speakon. Popping it back in is simple especially if it happens during the middle of a gig.

Cool... you do have the same risk with speakons.


It's a non-issue for me... no one is going to be that close to the back of my rig anyway. I'd rather minimize the chance of my cab not producing sound during a gig. YMMV
