In ear monitoring - DI signal?

hello,

does anybody know if it's possible to get the bass DI signal into your ears via earhpones?

i'm thinking of going 'amp-less' and just use a DI box.
furthermore, i'd like to get my sound and only my sound into my ears but still sending the DI the the FOH if necessary.

how can i go about it?

there are a few items on the market for headphones. the mor' me is a good one but a bit much for what you need. also many small amp heads and preamps have a headphone out. you can use their di or a seperate one.

not sure about di units with headphone outs, the cats in effects are sure to know if any do and of every headphone unit known to man.

Heck, there is a small chance you can find a lower quality used preamp with headphone out for cheaper than a good headphone amp.

something has just popped into my head:

DI 1/4 out -> cheap mic pre -> wireless transmitter -> wireless receiver - > earphones

would that work?

yeah. still talk to the cats in effects. they know quite a bit and di stuff usually goes over there. you may find a di that has a headphone out.
