EV LiveX 12inch monitor vs QSC K10 or K12

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm in need of 4 new monitors for our band... based on online reviews, I'm having a tossup between the new EV EXP112p and QSC K10 (or K12)

the QSC's are more $$$, but the reviews of the EV are better.

so... anybody care to weigh in on this?

No experience with the EV's, but love me some K 12's or 10's.

Just picked up a Behringer Eurolive F1220A 125W powered monitor. Yeah, Behringer is not the highest rated mfg, but this is one really nice monitor and an exceptional value at only $217. Great sound, intelligent design and great features for use as a floor monitor. Anyone else try one of these?

BEHRINGER: F1220A

Oh, we use QSC K12 and K-Subs for FOH, they ROCK as does most all QSC gear. We also use EV gear for our stadium-size kit - EVC is very nice gear! Tough choice.....

I have no experience with the EV's, but LOVE the QSC K Series powered speakers. (K10's/K12's ...even the K8's are great, but the K8's are not slanted for monitor use)

The QSC K10's/K12's also mate really nicely with their Ksub if and when you need 'mains w/sub.' The QSC's are crystal clear sounding to my ears. Very natural tonality. Especially nice sounding on vocals.

PS: What reviews indicate the EV's are better than the QSC's? Or what reviews for the QSC's are less than stellar?

All of them are coming out VERY close, but here's just a few...

doesn't seem like you can go wrong either way...

We use the K12s for FOH and they are fantastic speakers.

Be sure to have a listen to the RCF ART series before buying anything.
IMHO They are the best in that category.
Not as powerfull but better sounding.

I personaly use a RCF ART310A as my bass monitor.
I also use a 902as sub.

The new serie7 is very nice.
